I BECOME ENTIRELY READY AND WILLING TO HAVE GOD BEGIN THE PROCESS OF REMOVING ALL OF THE HABITUAL SINS IN MY LIFE. I REALIZE THAT THIS PROCESS WILL SOMETIMES BE PAINFUL AND TRYING, BUT WITH HIS HELP AND HIS WILL WORKING IN ME TO CONFORM ME TO HIS IMAGE, I KNOW WITH FULL CONFIDENCE HE WILL COMPLETE THIS WORK FULLY.
There will have to be a certain amount of fruit evident and a willingness and zeal that will be apparent in my life when I reach this point. Upon reaching Principle 6, my heart has been sensitized to my sin and a true desire to be Holy has developed because of God’s glorious work and faithfulness to His Word. My conscience is beginning to be healed from being beaten down or nearly cut off because of my living lies and a life of hypocrisy. (compare with (cf) 1 Timothy 4:1-2; Hebrews 9:14)
I have made this decision and commitment to turn from the things of my past which include the memories and old ideas that cause me to stumble (2 Corinthians 10:4-5) and the philosophies of the world that have clouded the truth of God’s Word. The fruit that is evident is shown by my faithfulness to follow through with the foot work of allowing God to search me and try my way, and by my confession to another person that God has blessed me with by putting this person in my life to stand beside me and disciple me. I see the ever-fervent LOVE He has for me because of His continued discipline, faithfulness, and commitment to show me a new way of life. Ezekiel 36:27 is certainly true because His Spirit is causing me to love and follow His decrees. (Psalm 119:15-18, 47-48, 57, 63, 67, 71, 92, 103-104, 133, 140, 142, 161-163, 165)

|
1 John 3:4-6—
- Will Jesus "take away" the things I’m not willing to give over to Him?

|

- Does God automatically change my old desires or do I have to "turn away" from them?

|

- How is Christ able to appreciate the difficulties I encounter "living according to" God’s will and "turning away from" the world?
- Do I understand that, even though some areas in my life still need to be transformed, I can still approach the "throne of Grace" with confidence?
- Is it a sin, then, when I try to handle or control things in my life on my own?
